1. If you think that speaking lies, committing adultery, or backbiting are the only major sins, then my brothers, that is not true. Not understanding the Quran is a big sin.

2. If you become an engineer, doctor, or businessman, and you're happy, thinking you’ve done well and succeeded, but if you don’t understand the Quran, then you’ve done nothing—you're just wasting your time. The majority of people, even those who pray five times a day and read the Quran daily, do not make the effort to understand it.

3. All the books that are read in front of people in the mosque, such as Fazail-e-Amaal, emphasize the importance of understanding the Quran. If, after reading any Islamic book, no interest develops in your heart about understanding the Quran, then it is useless.

4. Almost 100% of women do not know how to read the Quran properly, so understanding the Quran is very far from them.

5. If you read the Quran daily, that is great, but if you do not understand its message, it will benefit you.

6. If a friend from a foreign country wrote us a letter in a foreign language, we would try our best to understand it. We would look for a translator, even without eating or sleeping, to make sure we understand the message. But we do not show the same urgency when it comes to understanding the Quran.

7. The disrespect we show by not understanding the Quran and following it is something we will face the consequences of, especially in Muslim countries. We will face difficulties in this world and the hereafter if we do not understand and follow the Quran.
